It was a night of celebration to recognise the work of the many volunteers throughout the

There was also a fantastic presentation for Chelsea SES from Chelsea Rotary. Peter Washington from Rotary and Councillor Bauer spoke about the work that Chelsea SES had done at the end of 2009 and the start of 2010 assisting with their Farmers Market and then presented a cheque to the unit for just over $3,700.00.

The cheque was accepted on behalf of Chelsea SES by member Robert Gowling who reiterated to the audience the importance of this type of support by the local community and Governments at all levels and how it means less time for volunteers shaking tins and more time doing the work that they train for.
Robert explains just what this cheque means to Chelsea SES
The money from Chelsea Rotary will be used to purchase a new large water transfer pump to assist with calls for assistance following flooding.
Fantastic live music added to the great atmosphere of the evening
The event was part of National Volunteer Week and a great night was had by all.
