When Jefferson Bauer conceived of the idea for the Fun in the Sun Festival, even he could not have imagined the fantastic success the day would bring with the event attracting almost 15,000 visitors.

Thousands flocked to Chelsea’s Bicentennial Park for a day the defiantly had plenty of fun even if the sun was a little more scarce.

Crowds at the skate park thrilled to the extreme displays by local kids and the stage rocked with fabulous music including a hot set from the super cool Victoria Police band, Code One.

For many of the young and young at heart in the audience, the stars of the day were the Captain, Wags and Dorothy the Dinosaur who captivated the crowds with 2 sets of the very best Wiggly entertainment around.

Chelsea SES were kept busy all day with parking duties as well as a mini search for a missing 7 year old found by member Lisa Tagg who was then quickly reunited with her very relieved Aunt.

Finding space for cars and lost children kept the Chelsea Crew Busy

Everyone at Chelsea SES wants to congratulate Jefferson on an incredible job and all of the helpers from the Chelsea Community Renewal; let’s hope that this can become an annual all abilities event for Chelsea to look forward to.
