Chelsea members involved in the search for a missing diver at Half Moon Bay

Just after 10.30am this morning, (10/02/2010) Chelsea SES were asked to assist VICPOL in the search for a missing male diver near Half Moon Bay.

2 Units with 7 volunteer members joined crews from Moorabbin and Oakleigh Units at Half Moon Bay Life Saving Club before being briefed by Police and directed to specific search areas.

The Water Police and Police Air Wing were also involved. The 39 year old Mont Albert man has been missing since about 8.30pm last night, his car has been found at the Black Rock Yacht Club car park but no diving equipment had been located.

The search continues for the missing man

SES crews were stood down by Police just after 1.30pm following a search of the cliff tops for a distance in either direction from the wreck of the Cerberus.

The Water Police are continuing to search the waters around the wreck of the Cerberus off Half Moon Bay and Beaumaris.
