We're Official!
Last night (9/12/2009), City of Kingston Junior Mayor, Lachlan Bourne, officially launched www.chelseases.com.au at the Chelsea SES unit. Representatives from Patterson River CFA, Moorabbin & Frankston SES units and Chelsea Police joined Chelsea members and their special guests from the City of Kingston; Councillor Trevor Shewan, newly elected Deputy Mayor, Councillor Donna Bauer and of course Lachlan; Mr Luke O’Hehir owner of the the site's development company, Elegant Logic and local media to celebrate the new website.
Councillor Bauer spoke of the site as a community resource and how it could be enjoyed by the entire family and Lachlan was happy to tell how his first visit to the site had kept him on line for more than an hour, his initial reaction to the site, “WOW!”
Let the fun begin.
Visitors were greeted on arrival at the unit by Chelsea’s rescue fleet, reds and blues flashing to begin the celebrations. The evening was conducted by unit Media Liaison Officer, Phil Wall, who took guests on a virtual tour of the site before some words from Councillor Bauer and the official launch by Lachlan.

Following this, Phil presented Lachlan with an Honorary Membership to Chelsea SES along with SES Cap, polo shirt and other goodies, “he would definitely be a fantastic asset to this unit and we’d be thrilled to have him in orange any time at all” said Phil.
Also on the night, the 2009 Chelsea SES award winners were recognised. Daniel Alpel, Chelsea Training Officer, was named as this years Controller’s Award winner for outstanding excellence in all facets of SES life and Evette Davis won the City of Kingston Award as the outstanding new recruit of the year. Lachlan, Donna and Trevor Shewan presented Evette with a perpetual shield which will remain on display at the unit to celebrate her win. Congratulations to Daniel and Evette from everyone at Chelsea for a fantastic year!

Oh what a night.

"The only way to have an truly effective and relevant website is to have the ability to update the site quickly and easilly and with the site that Luke's company gave us, this is really easy to do" said Phil Wall, unit PR/Media/VICPOL LIaison Officer.
