As thick fog blanketed parts of Melbourne this morning (03/06/2010) Chelsea SES were called to a car V Tree on Nepean Hwy between Parkdale and Mordialloc.

The outside lane of Nepean Hwy was closed for a short time following the incident

The accident occurred just before 8am when the vehicle collided with a tree on the median strip near the corner of Cherrington Court in Parkdale, blocking the outside lane of Nepean Hwy for a short time.

After the badly damaged vehicle was removed, Chelsea SES was called in to remove a small section of tree that was blocking the roadway.

The car was left badly damaged but luckily the driver was unhurt

Traffic disruption was kept to a minimum with quick work from the Chelsea crew

Police attended the scene and are continuing their enquiries. The male driver of the car was not injured
