What a mess!

Just after 5.30am on Anzac Day morning, a brand new, white Jeep Cherokee is believed to have lost control as it travelled along Nepean Highway at Mordialloc.

The vehicle which was travelling south towards Frankston, failed to take the bend as it came under the railway bridge just past White Street, where it mounted the centre strip colliding with trees and a sign post.

Rescue 1 and Transport arrive on scene

When the units arrived on scene, they closed the middle and outside lanes of the highway and once the car had been removed by the tow truck, work began to clear the debris from the downed trees.

A quick check before reopening the road

The units were on scene for almost an hour and by around 7am, Nepean Highway was fully opened in both directions.
